Plants watered. Trees planted. Marina from the Capenza crew, arms folded, with her plants

Climate

Lighter on the planet

Every Capenza order plants a tree and removes more carbon than its delivery puts out. We make to order in our Brighton studio, so nothing is made just to sit on a shelf.

Every order

From our studio to your door

  1. 01

    Made when you order

We embroider each piece in our Brighton studio when it's ordered, with thread made from recycled plastic bottles. No overproduction, no warehouse of unsold stock.

  2. 02

    Packed by us

Packed by the same team that made it and sent straight from the studio. No middlemen, no extra miles.

  3. 03

    Carbon removed

Every order funds 1 kg of verified carbon removal through Ecologi, more than an average delivery puts out. We pay for it, not you.

  4. 04

    A tree planted

Every order plants a tree with Ecologi, in projects that put the right trees in the right places, with local communities.

  5. 05

    Carbon neutral at your door

Your order arrives carbon neutral. Wear it lightly.

Our thread

Every stitch is recycled

We only embroider with Madeira Polyneon Green, a thread made from 100% recycled plastic bottles collected after use. Madeira turns the bottles into thread and dyes it in its own factories in Germany. It's as strong and bright as new polyester, so your stitching lasts.

  • 100% recycled plastic bottles
  • GRS certified, bottle to yarn
  • OEKO-TEX Standard 100
  • Dyed in Germany

The studio

How we keep it light

Every order plants a tree somewhere that needs one. I just look after the ones on my windowsill.

Renewable energy

Our studio runs on 100% renewable electricity, with no gas used on site.

Made to last

Heavyweight blanks, stitched rather than printed, so they keep their shape for years. And if your stitching ever needs it, we'll redo it.

  • Free re-stitch in year one
  • £5 trade-in

Our whole team

Through Ecologi's Climate Action Workforce we fund impact every month for each member of our team, on top of the tree and carbon removal on every order.

  • 12 trees a month each
  • 1.5 t CO₂ avoided each
  • 1 m² habitat each

Who we work with

Questions

Is every Capenza order carbon neutral?

Yes. Every order funds 1 kg of verified carbon removal and plants one tree through Ecologi. We pay for it from every order, it never adds to your price.

What's the thread made from?

Every Capenza stitch uses Madeira Polyneon Green: 100% recycled polyester made from plastic bottles collected after use. It's GRS certified from the bottle to the yarn, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, and dyed by Madeira in Germany.

Are the numbers live?

Yes. They're read from Ecologi every time the page opens, so they move as orders come in. Ecologi usually counts a new order within a few minutes.

Why are the totals bigger than Capenza?

Capenza is made in the same Brighton studio as our sister brands, and one Ecologi account covers every order we send. So the figures are the studio's combined totals, Capenza included.

Where are the trees planted?

In Ecologi's verified planting projects, so far mostly in Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Tanzania. You can see every project in our Ecologi forest.

What's Capenza for life?

A free re-stitch in the first year on anything we've embroidered, plus £5 off when you trade in an old piece. It keeps good pieces in use for longer.
