Every Capenza drawing started with a walk around Brighton. Seven characters came out of it, each named after a corner of the city we love: Preston Park, The Lanes, Brighton Marina, Regency Square, Kemptown, the Pier, and one very well-fed seagull.
You'll find their faces embroidered on our caps and beanies, and the whole crew head to toe on our heavyweight tees and hoodies. Here's who's who.
Preston
Named after Preston Park. The face of Capenza. Find him cruising the paths of Preston Park on a Sunday, cap low, board under one arm and a coffee from the Rotunda in the other.
Elaine
Named after The Lanes. Elaine knows every twitten in The Lanes. Tote on her shoulder and the cat never far behind, she's always just found a little shop you've never heard of.
Marina
Named after Brighton Marina. Plants watered, cargos pressed, Marina is down by the boats most evenings, watching them come in and planning where she'll sail next.
Reggie
Named after Regency Square. Reggie skates the slopes of Regency Square and never misses a sunset over the West Pier.
Kemp
Named after Kemptown. Beard, beanie, backpack. Kemp packs light, walks everywhere and is out of Kemptown on the next adventure before you've had breakfast.
Pierre
Named after the Pier. Pierre rides the seafront to the pier and back every morning. Tattoos, moustache, absolutely no rush.
Gulliver
Named after our seagull. The real local. Gulliver has lived on Brighton beach longer than any of us, and he's had your chips more than once.
