How to look after your cap, beanie and hoodie

Capenza care guide cover: the Essential Hoodie in Deep Black with Elaine from the Capenza crew

Everything we make is embroidered, and embroidery lasts for years if you treat it kindly. Here's the short version.

Caps

  • Hand wash cold with a little mild detergent. A soft brush helps with marks on the peak.
  • Reshape while damp and leave it to dry on its own, or over a rolled towel.
  • No washing machine, no tumble dryer: they bend the peak and fade the wash.

Beanies

  • Hand wash cold and gently squeeze, don't wring.
  • Dry flat so the rib keeps its shape.

Tees and hoodies

  • Turn inside out and wash at 30°C with similar colours.
  • Skip the tumble dryer: heavyweight cotton shrinks and the embroidery puckers.
  • Iron on the reverse, never over the embroidery.

Totes

  • Wipe clean, or hand wash cold and hang to dry.
