Capenza is made in Brighton, and every character on our caps is named after a corner of the city. So who better to show you around than the crew? Here are our favourite places, from the top of town down to the sea.
Our favourite corners of Brighton
Preston Park
Brighton's biggest park, a short walk north of the station. Head to the Rotunda café for a coffee, then lap the paths before the joggers take over. Meet Preston, who lives here.
Best time: Sunday mornings.
The Lanes
A tangle of narrow alleys (twittens, as locals call them) packed with jewellers, little shops and cafés. Get lost on purpose. Meet Elaine, who lives here.
Best time: Weekday mornings, before it gets busy.
North Laine
Just up the hill from The Lanes: independent shops, record stores, vintage clothes and some of the best coffee in town.
Best time: Saturdays.
Regency Square
A grand old square that slopes down to the sea, right opposite what's left of the West Pier. One of the best spots in town for sunset. Meet Reggie, who lives here.
Best time: Sunset.
Brighton Palace Pier and the seafront
The pier, the arches and the long promenade between Hove and Kemptown. Cycle it, walk it or just sit on the stones. Meet Pierre, who lives here.
Best time: Early morning, before the crowds.
Brighton beach
Pebbles, not sand, and the best people-watching in the country. Mind your chips: the gulls are bold. Meet Gulliver, who lives here.
Best time: Any time, with a jumper.
Kemptown
East of the pier: colourful terraces, St James's Street's bars and a village feel around St George's Road. From here the Undercliff Walk runs along the chalk cliffs to Rottingdean. Meet Kemp, who lives here.
Best time: A long morning walk.
Brighton Marina
Boats, pontoons and the harbour wall at the eastern end of town. Quiet in the evenings and lovely as the sun goes down over the cliffs. Meet Marina, who lives here.
Best time: Evenings.
A day in Brighton, our way

- Afternoon: the pier, the beach, or the Undercliff Walk from Kemptown towards Rottingdean.
- Evening: sunset from Regency Square or the harbour wall at the Marina.
What to wear
Brighton weather changes quickly, especially on the seafront. A cap for the sun, a beanie for the wind and a heavyweight hoodie for when it turns cold. All made a short walk from everywhere on this list.
Want to meet the crew properly? Each of them has their own page with their story, what they wear and a map of where they live. Start with Preston, or see them all on our About page.
